Took Place 2/1/25
I (Amy Nicholls) wanted to have a place to share some of the materials I gathered while attending the West Virginia Homeschool Convention, that I attended with my friend, Allie Oxenblood. Allie was a new member of the WVHEA (West Virginia Home Education Association) and she was helping to put on the event.
Since reconnecting with Allie (as we met seven plus years ago, at a Paradise Art Gathering) I've noticed a very similar sensibility and experience between her and I (especially since 2020). I wanted to hangout with this beautiful soul and her son, Beorn (A boy I had only met as an infant; Now 8 years old.) as they traversed this convention, as mother and son, mentor and mentee, one passionate heart to another.
Since I started this podcast, it has been a regular theme to explore education spaces of all varieties. As 2025 is the start of a new political administration and possibly a shift in American education, I've wanted to really dive into homeschooling resources. I've long encouraged this option and known a few homeschooled families; I just really don't know more than what is on the outside and what I see as the results. The facade is good and so have been my view of those who've been homeschooled. I just can't give any advice to parents interested, until now...
